
Sharon Falgout
Missioner for Operations
Sharon Falgout has been an active member of St. Barnabas since 2011, and retired recently from a career as underwriting administrator at a large insurance corporation. She is a Eucharistic Minister, co-leader of Episcopal Church Women (ECW), past Senior Warden, and brings her love for our faith community to this new role as Missioner for Operations.
Originally from “down the bayou,” in Chauvin, Sharon takes much pride in her Cajun roots. She is the mother of two adult children, Wendy and Joshua, and concedes that granddaughters, Olive and Joy, are the loves of her life. In her free time, Sharon enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, experiences with her women’s group, reading, and gardening.

Shantell Gomez
Accounting Coordinator
Shantell Gomez serves as the Accounting Coordinator at St. Barnabas, bringing over a decade of finance experience from both banking and nonprofit sectors. She holds degrees in Business Administration and Behavioral Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. When she steps away from the numbers, Shantell finds joy in family time, attending as many local arts performances as she can, and dancing with her Mardi Gras Krewe.

Shawn Roy
Director of Music
A native of Louisiana, Shawn serves as Director of Music for St. Barnabas Episcopal. He plays the organ, piano, and leads the choir. He is also on the voice faculty at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette School of Music, where he is ending his 27-year tenure there. Prior to his time at UL Lafayette, Shawn performed professionally in opera and musical theatre. He has appeared with companies across the United States as well as in Europe, Norway and South America. Shawn received his Bachelors degree in Music Education from USL, and holds a Masters degree and Artist Diploma in Opera from the University of Cincinnati College/Conservatory of Music. In his spare time, Shawn enjoys shopping, working in the garden, travelling and playing games on his phone.

Mark Hein
Site Supervisor
Mark Hein serves as the Sexton at St. Barnabas. He and his family moved to Louisiana from Wisconsin about two years ago. Mark, his wife, and two sons live in Delcambre. Their youngest daughter still lives in Wisconsin. Mark enjoys helping care for the church and making sure the buildings and grounds are welcoming to everyone who visits. In his free time, Mark enjoys collecting coins, minerals, and other antiquities, and likes learning about the history behind them. He is grateful to be part of the St. Barnabas community.

Beau LaFleur
Assistant Site Supervisor
Beau loves playing and listening to music and bike rides through Lafayette. He is currently pursuing a communications degree at SNHU online school. St. Barnabas has been his home church since the day he was born, and he feels honored to be able to help maintain the building so that others may comfortably enjoy the place that brings him so much joy.

Ellie Bartlett
Missioner for Engagement
Ellie Bartlett is the Missioner for Engagement at St. Barnabas. A Lafayette native, she is a “cradle Episcopalian,” and has attended St. Barnabas since childhood. Ellie grew up going to Camp Hardtner and worked as a counselor throughout college. These Episcopal roots fueled her love of the service and spirituality that can be found in community. When not at the church, Ellie practices yoga and enjoys crafts, dance, watching films, writing, and travel. As Missioner for Engagement at St. Barnabas, she strives to bring that same sense of joy and curiosity—a true joie de vivre—to every interaction.

Jennifer Bolling
Missioner for Youth Formation
Jennifer Bolling is passionate about nurturing the faith and development of children and youth within the parish community. In her role as Missioner of Youth Formation, she provides oversight for the Sunday nursery, children’s ministries, and youth ministries, including EYC and Children’s Chapel. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from ULL.
A lifelong member of St. Barnabas, Jennifer has faithfully served many ministries and worked on numerous committees and parish projects over the years, bringing a spirit of dedication and collaboration to all. In addition to her role at St. Barnabas, Jennifer is bi-vocational and serves the wider community through her work at Beacon Community Connections. She is grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside children, youth, and families as they grow in faith and connection.

Phyllis Mayo
Missioner for Community Partnerships
Phyllis is a sixth generation Louisianan who went to kindergarten in Morocco, junior
high in Japan, and graduated from high school in Honolulu. Her military family was originally from central Louisiana where she was born. She retired (for the first time) in 2008, after serving in Governor Kathleen Blanco’s administration. Before that, Phyllis worked for Cleco in corporate communications and business development. Her background also includes arts administration, media relations and advertising.
Phyllis received degrees from LSU and UNO and was the first woman elected to the
Alexandria City Council. St. Barnabas has been her faith community since moving to Lafayette to be near her two grown children.

Tera Melancon
Director of Little Lambs Mother’s Day Out
Tera Melancon has been the Director of Little Lambs Mother’s Day Out since June of 2022. Originally from the Fort Worth, Texas area, Tera graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Reading. She also has an Alternative Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. Tera taught for four years in Texas before moving to Louisiana in 2015, where she spent six years teaching Kindergarten Spanish/English dual language immersion in the Lafayette Parish School System. Her passion is early childhood education, and she loves learning about students’ different backgrounds and cultures.
Tera and her husband, Matthew, have three precious children, Ella, Amelia, and Reese. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, camping, gardening, and riding her bike. She loves reading, as well as collecting books.

Morgan Green
Assistant Director of Little Lambs Mother’s Day Out
Morgan Green has been the Assistant Director of Little Lambs Mothers Day Out since August of 2023. Born and raised in Lafayette, she graduated from Lafayette High School before attending UL Lafayette. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Sciences and a Minor in Sociology. During her senior year of college, Morgan began working at St. Barnabas part time, providing childcare in the nursery during the Sunday morning services. Before becoming the Assistant Director, Morgan taught Pre-K4 at Little Lambs for 5 years. She is passionate about early childhood education and finds joy in instilling a love of learning at a young age. She loves her job and considers it a blessing to work at St. Barnabas.
Morgan is married to Michael Green. They have a dachshund named Hermione. When she isn’t at work, Morgan is a nanny for 2 of the sweetest children and the secretary for her weekly bowling league. She enjoys cheering on the LSU Tigers, spending time with her family and friends, attending concerts, and traveling, especially to Disney World.

Michael J. Bordelon
Father Michael was installed as the seventh Rector of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in August of 2019. Fr. Michael is a native of Alexandria, LA and holds degrees from Louisiana College, BS and The University of the South, M.Div. Prior to being called to ordained life, Michael had a business career with a Fortune 500 company: Stryker Orthopedics, specializing in Total Joint Replacement. Before coming to St. Barnabas, Fr. Michael was the Curate and School Chaplain of Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe, LA. Fr. Michael is married to Lauren Bordelon. They have two beautiful children, Hollis and Henry.
Fr. Michael enjoys summer camp, meeting new friends, practical jokes, and looking for any possible opportunity to talk about Jesus Christ and then making that love real in the world.
